Voyage description

As Lorient’s vibrant Port Festival draws to a close we set sail form this fishing hub with other tall ships. After a day of getting accustomed to the Santa Maria Manuela and connecting with fellow shipmates, we approach the enchanting archipelago of Les Glenan, made up of seven islands around an inland sea with transparent water, and white sandy beaches. You’d be forgiven for mistaking this for the Seychelles, but no, you’re still in Brittany!

If we’re lucky with the weather, we’ll drift for the day. For the energetic, it’s a chance to swim and enjoy the ship's kayaks and paddle boards. For those with relaxation in mind, take a lift ashore on the ships zodiac to stroll in the sand dunes or relax on the pristine white sandy beaches. There’s time for a bracing swim before we sail north, past the Channel Islands, giving the notoriously fierce tidal race a wide berth, and on towards Le Harve.

Volunteer to help the crew hoist and set the sails. The feeling of helming a 68m sailing ship with the sensation as she responds to the command of the wheel is something to savor forever. There´s nothing our crew like more then to share their knowledge of sailing with our guests, and they will encourage you to get actively involved in sailing the ship.

Knot classes are a great way to learn a new skill whilst sharing sailing stories with shipmates, and if the weather allows there's the opportunity to go up the mast or relax on the bowsprit. A drink at sunset on the deck is the perfect way to round off each day

We disembark in Le Havre, the birth place of Monet’s ‘Impressionism’, well connected for a quick return home.

Weather:
In Les Glenan archipelago expect warm and sunny weather in June, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 22°C
