- Sail more than 1000 miles through the Atlantic Ocean with interesting stop over in Porto
- Hands-on sailing experience in all aspects of the ship's life
- When you are not involved in the sailing there's plenty of time to spot dolphins, fish, share sailing stories by the bar or lose yourself in a good book
- If there's time during this voyage we hope to visit the City of Porto in Northern Portugal .
NOTE: Excursions off the ship are not included within the price and are to be arranged independently
We leave the 29th at 18.00h but guests can check in early in order to visit Portsmouth and its Historical British Naval Museum.
This 1000 nautical miles of Atlantic Ocean sailing is ideal for a real tall ship sailing experience. The usual wind is from the north throughout this voyage so we hope to sail all the way with the wind on our beam just as she was designed to sail 80 years ago when she sailed to Newfoundland on the cod expeditions.
There's nothing our crew like better than to share their knowledge of sailing this historic ship with our guests, and knot tying classes are a great way to learn a new skill whilst having an opportunity to share sailing stories with shipmates. If the weather allows there's the opportunity to go aloft or relax in the bowsprit netting, with a sundowner on the deck is the perfect way to round off each day.
We would encourage guest to arrive in Portsmouth early to allow time to visit Portsmouth's Historic Dock Yards, home to HMS Victory and Warrior. If we make good progress on our voyage south we hope to visit the French Historical Port of St Malo and the City of Porto in Northern Portugal.
