Voyage description

This voyage begins in Brest, a French city with proud maritime roots, and follows a northward route to Falmouth and west, past the Scilly Isles across the Irish Sea to Dublin.

As we leave the coast of Brittany, guests are invited to take part in sailing the Santa Maria Manuela—helping to hoist the sails, taking the helm, or learning navigation skills from the crew. With the wind setting the pace, there’s time for hands-on learning, reflection, and shared moments with fellow travelers.

Sailing into Dublin is a memorable experience. The city’s rich seafaring heritage reveals itself against a backdrop of Georgian buildings and a lively, working port. As we sail up the River Liffey, you’ll be welcomed ashore by the warmth and spirit of Gaelic hospitality. Traditional Irish music drifts from pubs across the city, offering a taste of the country’s soulful culture. Beyond Dublin, green rolling hills stretch into the distance—a timeless symbol of Ireland’s beauty and poetic heart.

VIEW CABINS

*Travellers must be between 14 and 80 years old on the date of sailing to be eligible for the trip.

  • Set on the rugged coast of Brittany, Brest is a port city shaped by the sea. Its deep natural harbor has long made it a key maritime hub, and the city still carries that naval legacy, with shipyards, a maritime museum, and a strong connection to the ocean.

The rebuilt city center reflects its post-war history, with wide avenues and modern buildings, while the waterfront offers quiet paths, public gardens, and views across the bay.

A short walk from the harbor, the National Maritime Museum is housed in the Château de Brest, one of the city’s oldest landmarks. Not far from there, Océanopolis offers a closer look at marine life from around the world, making it a popular stop for families.

Brest is also a starting point for exploring the scenic coast of Finistère, where cliffs, beaches and lighthouses define the landscape. Whether passing through or staying a while, Brest gives visitors a glimpse of Brittany’s maritime soul.

  • Dublin, Ireland’s lively capital, is a city steeped in maritime history and timeless charm. Once a bustling port of trade and exploration, its docks and quays whisper tales of seafarers and emigrants. Today, Dublin blends rich heritage with warm hospitality, offering visitors a warm welcome and a vibrant atmosphere.

Stroll through cobbled streets to discover historic landmarks like Trinity College, Dublin Castle, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. In the evening, the city comes alive with traditional music pouring from pubs, where locals share stories over a pint. From its literary legacy to its deep-rooted seafaring past, Dublin is a city that invites you in — and stays with you long after you’ve gone.

The first time we helped the crew put up the sails was magical.

I won't forget the long-suffering patient crew member who taught me to tie a double bowline. It took ages but I finally got it, and was able to teach another passenger.

Plein de moments magiques pendant le voyage. C'était impressionnant de voir le bateau depuis le zodiac quand on se trouvait à environ 50 ou 100 m du navire. Super la baignade en pleine mer.
